Uncharted 4: A Thief's End lead game designer Kurt Margenau is teasing series fans with another look at protagonist Nathan Drake in next-gen form.
Tweeted via Margenau’s account, the photo was captured at the Naughty Dog 30th Anniversary Art Show held at the Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California. The PS4-rendered image depicts an older, gruffer Drake as he smolders at something in the distance.
Naughty Dog initially teased the new Uncharted PS4 game during Sony's PlayStation 4 All Access event last November and officially revealed it at E3 2014. Uncharted 4 is set several years after Drake’s last adventure as he “embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure.”
Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells explained last month that the upcoming Uncharted installment will remain a light-hearted romp even though its development is spearheaded by The Last of Us heads Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann.

Samsung has announced its new 27" SD590C curved monitor, which will become available on October 1.

Samsung engineers reportedly conducted research on the human eye to determine the monitor's curve radius. Because the display's edges are physically closer to the user's eyes, users don't need to shift their focus to look at the ends of the screen - a feature that Samsung bills as ideal for people who spend extended hours in front of a computer, such as gamers and office workers.
The monitor features built-in dual stereo speakers and a special 'gaming mode' that detects changes in scenes and adjusts colour and contrast accordingly.
The SD590C will be available in the United States at a recommended retail price of $430 USD.

Assassin's Creed Rogue Achievements Revealed

Progress made in The Crew's closed beta on PS4 and Xbox One won't carry over to the final game, creative director Julian Gerighty has confirmed.
Following earlier beta tests on PC, new-gen console owners will be able to sample Ivory Tower's open-world racing game when the beta launches later today. Those interested in participating can still register here.
Creative director Gerighty told Examiner: "All of our betas so far have been technical betas. They are not there for anything else except for learning how we can make the experience better when we launch.
"They are also to get feedback from the community, but it's not a marketing beta. This means that players won't be getting the full experience. It's a technical beta and you shouldn't expect everything to be unlocked and transfer to the full game."
Ivory Tower said earlier this month that it had fixed over 4,000 The Crew bugs in the space of 30 days, while making numerous modifications and improvements to the game following PC beta testing.
The Crew release date is November 11 on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360.

BioWare offered an extensive look at Dragon Age: Inquisition during a live stream via Twitch on Monday, and below is almost 20 minutes of gameplay footage from the stream.
During the presentation developers showed off a new section of the game and offered a deep look at the character creation mechanics, also in a 28-minute video below.
In late July, EA delayed the Dragon Age: Inquisition release date by more than a month. The third entry in the RPG series is now scheduled to launch on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3 on November 18 in North America and November 21 in Europe.

The rumour has circulated for a while, but it looks like Windows 9 will be available free to owners of Windows 8. That's according to Indonesian news site Detik.com, which has published a statement by Microsoft Indonesia's Andreas Diantoro seemingly confirming the news. According to a Google translation of the article, Diantoro said Windows 8 will "update automatically" to the new edition of the operating system when it releases.
According to the article Diantoro makes this claim regarding codename 'Threshold', which is believed to be Windows 9. Whether the upgrade will apply to owners of Windows 7 or Vista is not specified.
The news comes ahead of an expected preview edition of Windows 9, which will reportedly release either September or October. Given we're fairly late in September now, it's reasonable to assume the date has been pushed to October, though Microsoft is expected to officially unveil the new OS during a September 30 event in San Francisco (that's tomorrow). Chief among the expected changes is the glorious return of the Windows start button.

With their affinity for hunting, sneaking, and hidden blade-like retractable claw, cats are really the assassins of the animal world. They're not as intimidating when they're kittens dressed up as assassins from the upcoming Assassin's Creed Unity, but what they lack in deadliness they more than make up for in cuteness.
YouTube user Mr.TVCow posted the video above, in which four hooded kittens hunt down a french soldier, much like like in a number of trailers for Assassin's Creed Unity. They use their eagle vision ability, parkour after their target, and perform lethal aerial assassinations, and yes, it's as unbearably adorable as it sounds.
Assassin's Creed Unity launches November 11 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Another game,Assassin's Creed Rogue, is also launching on that day, but it's coming only to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
